David is our Martial Arts, Boxing and Body Blitz Instructor!
He has over 40 years of Martial Arts. The last 25 years he has concentrated on Reality- based martial arts and currently holds a 5th degree black belt (under Walt Lysak & Rich Ryan), Sento Ju-Jitsu, 4th degree black belt (under Walt Lysak), Joe Lewis Fighting Systems, 3rd degree, Bill Wallace Superfoot systems, 2nd degree.
He also hold black belt ranks in other martial art systems.
Over the years he has competed in boxing, judo, submission, grappling and kickboxing tournaments. With his security/police background, David also teaches (real life situations) self-defense classes to women. He continues to train on a regular basis with his instructor who is located in West Springfield, MA. David routinely attends conferences and trainings to keep all of his training up to date. David was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2016.
David currently teaches the Boxing classes on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings and the Youth/Kids Martial Arts classes.
Erin Lenski is a student of all forms of fitness and found her calling as an instructor in 2014. Erin received her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Frog Lotus yoga, went on to pursue a certification in Pilates, Mat 1, Beginner and Intermediate, Barre: International Ballet Barre Association and Spin Level 1: Madd Dog Athletics and Group Fitness Instructor: AFFA. When she's not chasing around her three little children you can find her enjoying a quiet moment outside or in the studio!
Sherry has been a Berkshire County resident for the duration of her life. She has been very blessed to be able to share her passion for Yoga with the surrounding community. Sherry has been practicing for 20+ years now, and was certified at Frog Lotus in North Adams in 2010. Developing a practice has influenced her to dive deeper into alternative healing methods.
She is also a Reiki level 2 practitioner and look forward to evolving my healing energies! Spending time at home in Savoy with her family brings her great joy in her free time. Together, her family enjoys gardening and creating all kinds of beautiful art!
Certified Spinning Instructor, CPR and First Aid Certified. She's been into fitness since her Junior year of high school. It's always been her most relaxed and favorite hobby. She got into Spinning about 3 years ago and has loved it since the first time she hopped on a bike after her brother convinced me to do so. After a year of contemplating, she got certified in 2014.
She loves her family, friends, puppy son Louis, and of course her fiancee, Jake. Roxanne's true, true passion is working with individuals that have Autism. She completed her Masters in 2015 and now is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Over the years, fitness has been a way for her to de-stress when she is feeling overwhelmed.
Bobbie began practicing yoga in 2007, and completed a 200-hour RYT program at Yoga Sanctuary in Northampton, MA in 2014 under the leadership of the studio’s dedicated founder and director, Sara Rose Page. In this community she was fortunate to attend workshops and classes led by Dr. Douglas Brooks, scholar of comparative religion, anatomy presenter Martin Kirk, and the studio’s inspiring teachers.
She is inspired by yoga’s deep history and leads classes that focus on alignment while carrying notes of storytelling and philosophy.
Christine Meiklejohn is the instructor for Uechi-Ryu karate. She began practicing this style when she was 5, and took the classes with my grandfather, William Meiklejohn. She began helping him teach classes when she was 15 and proudly got my 1st degree black belt in 2008 at the age of 18. She continued working hard and was able to pass my 2nd degree black belt test in 2011. Christine is excited to share this style with everyone as it has been a huge part of my life. It isn't easy, and it isn't quick but it is definitely worth it.
American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer
Carol has always enjoyed exercise. When she exercises, she feels strong, healthy and it improves her mood.
Carol wanted to help others also experience this. She started by obtaining her personal trainer certification and then she went on to work towards a Pilates certification and most recently a Spinning certification. She currently works at Berkshire Sports & Physical Therapy where she see clients who are anywhere from post-rehab to endurance runners to those just looking to improve their overall strength & fitness levels. She has trained clients in private sessions, duets and small groups. She likes to focus on using correct form to gain the best results while avoiding injury.
Carol enjoys helping people gain confidence by building strength, mobility and endurance.
Erin Lawson is a Berkshire County native who grew up in North Adams. She currently resides in Adams with my husband Brian, son Lador, and Miniature Schnauzer Maddie. Her full-time job is at Berkshire Health Systems as a CSR which she has been doing for 9+ years now.
She started going to Cutting Edge Fitness & Martial Arts Center in September 2016. At that time she was unhappy with her lack of exercise and nervously contacted the gym to start taking spinning class. From there she took spinning, UGI, Fight Fit, Pilates, and now Body Blitz. Her husband Brian currently takes the Alpha Cycle class and their son Lador takes the Martial Arts class.
Throughout Erin's short time at Cutting Edge, she has developed a passion for Spinning which led her to take the course to become a Certified Spinning Instructor.

Charlene has been hula hooping for over 4 years. Hooping gave me the courage to love my body as it was, with all the imperfections and curves; but at the same time it also gave her back the motivation to move again. Hooping allowed me creativity and expression and the feeling of youth, through her new found love and she lost over 100 pounds in less than 2 years. Charlene wanted to share her love for hooping as well as the benefits it had given her, so she went and got certified in Hoop Flow and Hoop Fitness. Hoop Flow is movement based, where you gain confidence in yourself, your body, and coordination. You learn to combine tricks and move with your own style! Hoop Fitness combines the use of the hoop and many traditional forms of exercise such as Pilates, Barre, and some Yoga. You will use the Hoop as an intensity builder. It's a great workout! Charlene has completed two levels of this certification. Hoop Yoga combines the use of the hoop while moving through Vinyasa Yoga.
At Cutting Edge Charlene offers a Hoop Fitness where she has formatted a class of a mix of Hoop Fitness and Hoop Yoga. There is actually very little hooping; you will use the hoop as a barre, intensity builder, and even do some exercises while hooping- such as squats. We also make use of hand weights, stationary steps, and jump ropes!
