Class Descriptions

Spin® /Indoor cycling

Spinning® class offers a low-impact substitute to running on a treadmill that anyone looking to strengthen their legs can participate in! 

Our class is open to all fitness levels so that anyone can reach their fitness goals! The instructor will take you for an imaginary ride where you control the intensity. First-timers and highly trained athletes can get great workouts in the same class. The only requirement is to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated! 

Men's Boxing

Our boxing sessions consists of Shadow-boxing, pad work, heavybags, speedbag, double-end bag, slip ball, conditioning & agility drills are a few of the numerous activities done during sessions.
For clients with no boxing background, fundamentals & conditioning are the points of focus in the beginning. As clients & students basic skills & fitness develop, technique & strategy plays a larger role in the program. When the instructor feels the student is ready, incorporating sparring into the program is strongly suggested, but is always optional. 

The techniques learned and used in our Boxing classes are here to teach us how to hit a heavy bag or punching bag properly so that we can enjoy this vigorous workout without injuring ourselves while we do it. We learn footwork to better understand balance, range, defense and how to use the old adage of "Stick and Move" to increase the work requirements as we train. The partner drills are geared towards giving you the fundamentals you will need to use in order to spar or just better understand the movements of boxing. Not everyone who does the partner drills has to spar, in fact most members don't. That decision is totally up to you 


UGI®

Designed  specifically for realistic and sustainable results, Ugi is a fast and  effective training style aimed at boosting your energy and health while  helping you feel good about your body. The Ugi ball has the squish of a  beanbag, the bounce-back of a stress ball, and the beauty of simple  design, so you can accomplish a total-body workout with one tool.    Ugi is the ultimate 30-minute workout that combines strength, cardio and core training into the most fun, challenging, stylish way of becoming functionally fit. 


Yoga

Yoga is an important exercise that allows for rest, while also extending and strengthening muscles. Most types include breathing, meditation, and posing. These movements stretch and flex many muscle groups. If you’re looking for a low-impact way to improve your fitness and health, try our Yoga classes !

Edge body boot camp

Be prepared for anything!! This cardiovascular challenge can combine, multi-impacted moves, boxing, jump rope, medicine ball drills and more!

It’s important to mix up your cardio exercises with strengthening poses and techniques. With this class, you can do both. Various cardio segments are included to mix things up along with resistance strength training. It’s a full-body workout that checks all the boxes!

Leave it to the instructor to surprise, energize and challenge your endurance!

Our programs foster respect for  yourself and others, self-discipline, humility, assertiveness, and  character development, and is an excellent method for acquiring overall  physical fitness, improved strength, cardiovascular conditioning, weight  management, and coordination. 

We offer a comprehensive approach to  teaching and learning the martial arts. Our primary goal is to prepare  each student for any encounter in the most realistic and effective way  possible. This method teaches street applicable skills and trains the  student within an environment that addresses natural, psychological  responses of confrontation, such as fear, anger, etc… Students are  prepared to react ethically as well as decisively. From our fitness programs to our martial arts programs, our instructors are dedicated to helping you and/or your family achieve your individual goals.

Uechi-Ryu

A Uechi-Ryu class starts with a set of exercises, then you move onto working on katas, kumites, bunkais, sparring when appropriate. 

There will be belt advancements when the student is ready.

Ages 8 & up

bar(re) boot camp

  During the Bar(re) Boot camp you will do exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements." Also, don't be surprised if your class incorporates light weights, small medicine balls or body bars to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats for targeted core work. 

Power Push

Work up a sweat with this effective, calorie burning combination of cardio (Spin bikes), weights, kettlebells and/or medicine balls.  This 45-minute fast paced class is designed to engage all muscle groups.  Minimal rest, all out effort!!

Women's Boxing

Our women's boxing class will train your whole body through a system of  rounds to create a one-of-a-kind workout experience that strengthens and sculpts your muscles, burns body fat, builds beautiful boxers, and strengthens you to take on the rest of your day.


Women's boxing classes teach basic boxing skills and techniques such as; stance, guard, movement, jab, cross, hook. It increases strength and improves endurance. Classes will include cardio calisthenics, shadow boxing, bag work, partner drills, pad work and some ab-on-fire core strengthening exercises. 

Battle Stations Bootcamp

This 50-minute intense cardio/strength class will keep you moving through a circuit style workout. Be ready for anything and EVERYTHING!!

This workout will have you feeling wow'd by the change up in your routine. These compound full bodyweight exercises combined with light dumbbells and on-spot cardio will have you burning calories for up to 30 hours after this session

ABC Self-defense class

ABC teaches self-defense and effective strategies to recognize, avoid, and respond  to unwanted encounters or physical violence perpetrated by strangers  and/or people you know. Classes are taught by experienced, qualified instructors, in a positive and supportive environment.

ABC works to prevent violence and abuse by giving people the essential  tools they need to protect themselves and their loved ones, promote  healthy relationships, and facilitate respect in their communities and  society. ABC classes are designed to teach self-protection strategies  that are effective regardless of size, age, or fitness level.

training, functional fitness exercises, cardio endurance and core exercises using weights, kettle bells, ropes, agility and body weight exercises. Fitness Pilates

Fitness Pilates incorporates traditional Pilates exercises with body weight exercises and light weights to build muscle and increase flexibility while focusing on core strength and stability.  Pilates focuses on form and control to get the maximum benefit from each exercise.  Pilates helps to improve posture, body awareness, coordination and balance with decreased impact on joints.  This class will help you lose weight and improve your overall fitness and strength regardless of your current fitness level. 

1st Mile Running Group
