Class Descriptions

Spin®

 Instructors guide participants through workout phases. Warm-up, steady uptempo cadences, sprints, climbs, cool-downs, etc.

  • You control resistance on your bike to make the pedaling as easy or difficult as you choose. Constant adjustment is normal.
  • All you'll need is workout clothes and a water bottle.
  • Spin bikes have toe clips so you can wear sneakers. But many pedals also work with Shimano-style SPD cleats.

UGI®

This high-intensity interval workout combining core, strength and  cardio training into a fun and challenging 30-minute workout. Designed  specifically for realistic and sustainable results, Ugi is a fast and  effective training style aimed at boosting your energy and health while  helping you feel good about your body. The Ugi ball has the squish of a  beanbag, the bounce-back of a stress ball, and the beauty of simple  design, so you can accomplish a total-body workout with one tool 

Boxing

During our boxing class we will teach  you how to really move like a boxer. Don’t get us wrong, our Workout  will still make you sweat, but the focus is on fine-tuning your punches,  blocks, movement, and footwork. You will learn the dynamics of offense and defense, making you the most efficient and effective boxer possible.  The difference between our Boxing  class at Cutting Edge Fitness and every other place is WE don't pack the  house and make you "wait" for bags.  We don't let you go and do your  "own" thing.  You will be instructed correctly on how to punch, block  and move. 

Yoga

Each class is an authentic offering of our unique and talented instructors.  Their yoga styles provides an easy way for our students to find classes that fit their existing practice or help them begin a new one. 

FightFIT

This high intensity fitness program is guaranteed to quickly increase your performance and conditioning.  It works especially well for intensive physical sports like MMA, BJJ, Judo or any other combative sport. FightFIT is packed with metabolic circuits!  In these fitness classes, we employ dumbbells, kettlebells, Battling Ropes, TRX, medicine balls, Heavy Bags, and Grappling Dummies to ignite your metabolism!   

Martial Arts

Our programs foster respect for  yourself and others, self-discipline, humility, assertiveness, and  character development, and is an excellent method for acquiring overall  physical fitness, improved strength, cardiovascular conditioning, weight  management, and coordination. 

We offer a comprehensive approach to  teaching and learning the martial arts. Our primary goal is to prepare  each student for any encounter in the most realistic and effective way  possible. This method teaches street applicable skills and trains the  student within an environment that addresses natural, psychological  responses of confrontation, such as fear, anger, etc… Students are  prepared to react ethically as well as decisively. From our fitness programs to our martial arts programs, our instructors are dedicated to helping you and/or your family achieve your individual goals.

Take It Outside

Experience an outdoor workout that will challenge your aerobic and anaerobic capacity and core strength.

WE love training outdoors and staying fit and healthy.  We are sure that you will leave each training sessions feeling healthier, stronger and more energized.

Most of our clients are burning a minimum of 600 calories during these classes.  This class is designed to have you burning calories hours after you are done.

Uechi-Ryu

A Uechi-Ryu class starts with a set of exercises, then you move onto working on katas, kumites, bunkais, sparring when appropriate. 

There will be belt advancements when the student is ready.

Kids fun/fit program

 

  • Academic Supports: homework help & tutoring

  • Youth Development:  social skills, self-esteem, community service, etc.

Kids yoga

This is a form of yoga that is designed specifically for children.  It includes poses to increase strength, flexibility, and coordination.  Classes are intended to be fun and may include age-appropriate games,  animal sounds and creative names for poses.

ABC Self-defense class

ABC Self-Defense International is a fun, exciting, and  critically acclaimed women's personal safety and empowerment program.  Now taught WORLDWIDE in 14 countries and 12 US states, ABC teaches  self-defense and effective strategies to recognize, avoid, and respond  to unwanted encounters or physical violence perpetrated by strangers  and/or people you know. Classes are taught by experienced, qualified instructors, in a positive and supportive environment.

ABC works to prevent violence and abuse by giving people the essential  tools they need to protect themselves and their loved ones, promote  healthy relationships, and facilitate respect in their communities and  society. ABC classes are designed to teach self-protection strategies  that are effective regardless of size, age, or fitness level.

Barre Fitness

 Barre fitness combines ballet inspired movements with the best from Pilates, yoga and cardio to create a unique and accessible fitness program.  Using isometric movements (think an inch at a time) and high repetitions, Barre transforms the body while protecting the joints.  Appropriate for all ages and levels of fitness experience. 

Fitness Pilates

Fitness Pilates incorporates traditional Pilates exercises with body weight exercises and light weights to build muscle and increase flexibility while focusing on core strength and stability.  Pilates focuses on form and control to get the maximum benefit from each exercise.  Pilates helps to improve posture, body awareness, coordination and balance with decreased impact on joints.  This class will help you lose weight and improve your overall fitness and strength regardless of your current fitness level.
